Layers
Layers is a 3D work that depicts an abstract scene inspired by underwater forms such as sea urchins and jellyfish. A topographic structure holds a variety of radially repeated, layered forms with a glowing orb in the middle that gives life to this little ecosystem. Small anemone-like forms sprout out around the outside of the topographic structure, indicating that life inhabits these bodies. My attraction to the intricacies and layering of forms such as these pushed me to recreate this same effect in my own work.
